A body is supported on a rought plane inclined at 30^(@) to the horizontal by a string attached to the body and held at an angle of 30^(@) to the plane . Draw a diagram showing the forces acting on the body and resolve each of these forces (a) horizontally and vertically, (b) parallel and perpendicular to the plane.

Below are given the dissolved components of frictional force, Normal force and tension long horizontal and vertical direction.

Explanation:

Angle made by string = 30°

Now the force of friction on the mass "m":

(a) Now dissolve the Friction force "f" into its components:

fH = Along horizontal

fv = Along vertical

fH = f cos 30°

fv = f sin 30°

(b) Now normal force:

NH = N cos 60°

Nv = N sin 60°

(c) Tension "T" has also two components:

TH = Along horizontal = TH cos 60°

Tv =  Along Vertical = Tv sin 60°
