Answer:

The velocity of the body = 50 m/s.

Initial velocity = 0 m/s.

Acceleration due to gravity = 10 m/s².

Maximum height = s = ?

Take taken to reach maximum height = t = ?

Using equation of motion :

⇒ v² - u² = 2as

⇒ 50² - 0² = 2×10×s

⇒ 50² = 20s

⇒ s = (50×50)/20

⇒ s = (50×5)/2

⇒ s = 125 m

Hence, Maximum height reached by the body = 125 m.

Using equation of motion :

⇒ s = ut + ½at²

⇒ 125 = 0×t + ½×10×t²

⇒ 125 = 0 + 5t²

⇒ 5t² = 125

⇒ t² = 125/5

⇒ t² = 25

⇒ t = 5 s

Hence, Time taken to reach the maximum height = 5 seconds.
