Given:

  • A body is thrown up vertically with the velocity of 50 m/s.

  • a = -10 m/s

To find:

Maximum height reached by the body.

Solution:

For upward velocity final velocity (v) is zero.

Using third law of motion.

\sf{v^{2}=u^{2}+2as}

》0² = 50² + 2 (-10) s

》2500 = 20s

》s = 250/2

》s = 125 m

Therefore, the maximum height reached by the body is 125 meter
