therefore, v = u + at
0 = 20 - 10t

now for Distance (S)
S = ut + ½at²
S = 40 - 20
S = 20m
now in the free fall,
u = 0
a = 10
S = 20
therefore,
v²-u² = 2aS
v² = 400
v = 20m/s
Now,
v = u + at
20 = 10t
t = 2s
therefore, total time taken = 4s
