A body is thrown vertically up from the Earth's surface. Its potential energy during the motion →

Option d) First increases then decreases.

We know, potential energy = mgh

So if the height will increase, the potential energy will increase. During the upward motion, the particle will move upwards and after sometimes, it will start moving towards the Earth due to gravity. While going up, height increases, so the potential energy also increases but when it will come down, then it will decrease. Since the question ask for the potential energy 'during the motion' the answer is → option (d)
