A body is thrown vertically upward with velocity u, what will be the greatest height to which the body will rise?

velocity at highest point is 0   and acceleration is equal to the negative value of (-g)

by using third equation of motion,

v^2-u^2 = 2as

-u^2 = 2(-g)(s)

s = u^2/2g
