maximum height

 =  \frac{u {}^{2} \sin {}^{2} (a)  }{2g}  \\  =  \frac{u {}^{2}  \sin {}^{2} (90) }{2g}  \\   =  \frac{u {}^{2} \times  1}{2g}  \\  =  \frac{u {}^{2} }{2g}
