Answer :

A body is thrown vertically upward with a velocity of 100m/s.

We have to find maximum height attained by body.

◈ For a body thrown vertically upward, g is taken negative.

Final velocity of ball at max. height = zero

Let's apply third equation of kinematics :

➝ v² - u² = 2gH

➝ 0² - 100² = 2(-10)H

➝ H = -10000/-20

H = 500m

Hence, maximum height attained by body is 500m.
