A body is thrown vertically upwards with an initial velocity u and reaches q maximum height in 6 sec. Find the ratio of distance travelled by the body in first and seventh second.

initial velocity =u

max height= q

time = 6sec

at max height, v=0

=> v = u-gt

=> 0= u-10×6 = u= 60m/sec

=> distance covered in 1st sec

taking u= 60m/sec, t= 1 sec

=> h= ut-gt²/2

= 60×1-10×1/2= 55 m

=> distance covered in 7nth sec

talking u=0, t= 7-6= 1 sec ( it reached in 6 sec at q=> distance after 1 sec from q)

=> h = gt²/2

h= g×1²/2

=> 10/2 = 5m

=> ratio= 55 : 5 = 11 : 1
