A body mass 2.0kg and density 8000/m3 is completely immersed in a liquid of density 800kg/m333 find the force of buoyancy on it .

Force of buoyancy is given by 

 Fb   = weight of displaced fluid

 = (mass of displaced fluid)* g

 = m'g = (ρ' V')g ..........................(1)

Given that 

 Mass of the block m = 2kg 

Density of the block (ρ)= 8000kg/m3

Density of the fluid (ρ') = 800 kg/m3

Since ρ > ρ'

So the  block will sink completely.

Then volume of displaced water(V') = volume of the block= (m/ρ)



Now plug in the value of V', ρ' and g in the eqn (1)  

Then  Fb = 800*(2/8000)*10

 = 2 N

 So the force of buoyancy is 2N.
