Answer:

1) 20+20=40 m

2) according to pythagores theorem

H^2 = base^2 +height^

H^2= 20^2 + 20^2

H^2= 800

H=800^1/2

3) Speed = dist/ time

Speed = 1/2

Averg. Speed = 1 m/s

Explanation:

hey guys!,I want to explain here each wise

------------------------------------------------------------------------

DISTANCE:-

it defined as total distance travelled by a body from initial to final position is called distance.

in the given problem,the body travelled 20 m east and 20m north, so total distance traveled is 40m

--------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------

DISPLACEMENT:-

s defined as shortest distance travelled by body from initial to final position is called displacement of the body.

in the given problem,the body travelled in right angled triangle manner,so shortest distance is calculated as by pythagoras theorem

 \sqrt{ {20   }^{2}  +  {20}^{2}  }  = 20 \sqrt{2}

therefore displacement of body is 20^1/2.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

AVERAGE SPEED:-

its is defined as total distance travelled per total time taken is called average speed.

AVERAGE SPEED=TOTAL DISTANCE

----------------------------

TOTAL TIME

In the given problem,

TOTAL DISTANCE TRAVELLED=20+20=40m

TOTAL TIME TAKEN. =40+40=80SEC

therefore, average speed =40/80=1/2m/sec.

NOTE:-

In average speed we can't take the direction of distance travelled and the direction of speed,but we take it in case of average velocity and displacement.

becoz,speed and distance are scalar. quantities

velocity and displacement are vector quantities.

HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND THIS. (pls mark me brainliest).
