see my friend
4m east means it is base
3m north means it is perpendicular
so by Pythagoras theorem
H²=P²+B²
h²=(3)²+(4)²
h²=9+16
h²=25
h=5
displacement covered is 5 m

4m east you take as the base and the 3m north as the perpendicular and as per the Pythagoras theorem...h2=p2+h2...16+9=25 so it is 5...so the displacement is 5m and total distance is 4m+3m=7m
