here is your answer

as the distance covered = 6m towards east and 2m north. so total distance =8m

and now the

displacement =  \sqrt{ {6}^{2}  +  {2}^{2} }  \\ displacement =  \sqrt{36 + 4}  \\ displacement =  \sqrt{40}  \\ displacement = 36.32m

:- Total distance = 6m + 2m

= 8 m

Displacement = Under root 6*2 + 2*2

= Under root 36+4

= under root 40

= 6.32
