as the distance covered = 6m towards east and 2m north. so total distance =8m

and now the

$displacement = \sqrt{ {6}^{2} + {2}^{2} } \\ displacement = \sqrt{36 + 4} \\ displacement = \sqrt{40} \\ displacement = 36.32m$
