Answer:

44m

Explanation:

Radius of circular path, r = 14 m

Distance when body completes half round

we know,

Circumference of circle is 2\pir

Thus circumference of semi circle is 2\pi r/2=\pi r

Hence,

Distance when body completes half round=22/7×14=44m

Hope this helps you!

A body moves along a circular path of radius 14m.

We have to find the distance travelled after the body has covered half the circle.

Distance is defined as the total path covered by the body. Whereas displacement is defined as the shortest path covered by the body between initial and final points.

Assume that the body starts from point A to point B, here the body covers the half of the revolution. If it returns back to point A again then it completes the one complete revolution.

Distance cover in one round = Circumference of the circle = 2πr

→ 2 × 22/7 × 14

→ 88 m

Distance covered by the body in one revolution is 88 m. But as said in question we have to find the distance covered in half revolution.

So,

Distance covered in half round = (Circumference of circle)/2

→ 2πr/2

→ 88/2

→ 44 m

Therefore, the distance travelled by the body in half revolution/round is 44 m.
