the distance travelled by a body from a to b is actual path travelled by a body as body cover semicircle so distance covered is =1/2 * perimeter of a circle 1/2*2πr = πr distance covered while displacement should be the least distance travelled by a body if we connect initial position to final position we get displacement and it is found be equal to 2 time of circular radius
