If I talk theoretically, then suppose you need to go from one city to another, then the path you take is through roads which will take turns at many points or somehow it's not your straight path, that is called distance.

And imagine yourself going flying in straight line to another city, that path is called displacement.

Mathematically,

Distance = Speed*time

Displacement = Velocity*time
