Answer:

50ms

Explanation:

initial velocity =0

a=5ms^2

t=10s

v=u+at

v=0+5*10

v=50ms

Given

  • Body starts from rest so, Initial velocity of body, u = 0
  • Body moves with uniform acceleration, a = 5 m/s²

To find

  • Velocity of body after time 't = 10 s'; v = ?

Formula required

  • First equation of motion

     v = u + a t

[ Where

v = final velocity

u = initial velocity

t = time taken

a = acceleration ]

Solution

Using first equation of motion

→ v = u + a t

putting known values

→ v = ( 0 ) + ( 5 ) ( 10 )

→ v = 0 + 50

v = 50  m/s

Therefore,

  • Velocity of body after time 10 s will be 50 m/s.

Three equations of motion

  • First equation of motion

      v = u + a t

  • Second equation of motion

       s = u t + 1/2 a t²

  • Third equation of motion

      2 a s = v² - u²

[ Where v = final velocity, u = initial velocity, t = time taken, a = acceleration, s = distance covered ]
