ANSWER :

Given :

▪ Radius of circular path = 42m

▪ No. of revolutions = 1/2

▪ Time interval = 1min

To Find :

1) speed

2) velocity

Concept :

✏ Speed is defined as the ratio of distance covered to the time taken.

✏ Velocity is defined as the ratio of displacement to the time taken.

✏ Speed is a scalar quantity whereas velocity is a vector quantiy.

✏ Actual length of path is called as distance.

✏ The shortest distance b/w initial and final position is called as displacement.

Calculation :

☞ Speed = distance/time

☞ Speed = πR/t

☞ Speed = 22×42/7×60

Speed = 4.2mps

→ Velocity = displacement/time

→ Velocity = 2R/t

→ Velocity = 2×42/60

Velocity = 1.4mps
