The body travels a distance of 8 metres under the action of of 10 N force. We have to find out the gain in kinetic energy.

Let's define some of the terms :

Kinetic Energy : It it is the energy possessed by a body by the virtue of its motion.

Force : It it is a pushing or pulling vector responsible for changing velocities.

Displacement : It is a vector representing the shortest distance between the starting and stopping point of a journey.

In this kind of questions it is best to apply Work - Energy theorem. It states that what done by all the forces will be equal to the change in kinetic energy of the particle.

Work Done = \Delta KE

=> Force × Displacement = ∆KE

=> ∆KE = 10 × 8

=> ∆KE = 80 Joule

So final answer is :

Gain in KE is 80 J

Solution -

In the above Question, the following information is given -

A body moves through a distance of 8 metres under the action of a force of 10 newton .

Here,

The required force acting on the body is 10 N

Displacement of the body under the force = 8 M

We know that -

Change in kinetic energy is Same as Work Done .

Work Done = F • S

=> 10 N • 8 m

=> 80 N / m

=> 80 Joules .

Hence the gain In kinetic energy of the body is 80 Joules .
