Question:-

A body moves with an initial velocity of 2m/s.It gains an acceleration 3 m/s² covering a displacement of 4 m.

Solution:-

Given,

  • A body moves with an initial velocity of 2m/s.
  • And has an acceleration of 3m/s².
  • Covers a distance of 4m.

We have to use second equation of motion to find the final velocity:-

➣ v² - u² = 2as

➣ v² - 2² = 2(3)(4)

➣ v² - 4 = 24

➣ v² = 28

➣ v = √28

➣ v = 5.291

We have to use first equation of motion to find the time:-

➣ v = u + at

➣ 5.291 = 2 + 3t

➣ 5.291 - 2 = 3t

➣ 3.291 = 3t

➣ t = 3.291/3

➣ t = 0.291sec
