A body moving 15m/s eastwards and another body moving 20 m/s towards north. What will be the total distance between them after 100s?​

Answer:

Body moving east - Total distance from initial point after 100 seconds = 15*100 = 1500 metres = 1.5 kilometres

Body moving north - Total distance from initial point after 100 seconds = 20*100 = 2000 metres = 2 kilometres

By applying Pythagoras Theorem,

Total distance² = 1.5² kms + 2² kms

Total distance² = 2.25 kms + 4 kms

Total distance² = 6.25 kms

Total distance = 6.25 kms

= 2.5 kms
