 \large\bf\underline{Given:-}

  • Radius of circular track = 14m
  • A body covers half revolution in 5 seconds.

 \large\bf\underline {To \: find:-}

  • speed of body

 \huge\bf\underline{Solution:-}

  • Radius of circle = 14m

body covers half revolution of circle circumference.

»★ Circumference of circle = 2πr

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀➝ 2 × 22/7 × 14

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀➝ 2 × 22 × 2

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀➝ 4 × 22

⠀⠀⠀⠀➝ 88m

So , as we know that the body covers half revaluation.

Distance covered by body = 88/2

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀= 44m

»★Speed = Distance/time.

Speed of body = 44/5

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ = 8.8m/s

»★ Velocity = Displacement/time

Displacement of circle = Diameter of circle = 2r

So,

Displacement = 2 × 14

Displacement = 28

Now,

Velocity = 28/5

Velocity = 5.6m/s

Hence,

✥ Speed of body = 8.8m/s

✥ Velocity of body = 5.6m/s

Difference between speed and velocity

★ Speed :-

speed of a body is the distance travelled by it in per unit time.

≫Speed = \tt\frac{Distance \: Travelled}{Time\: Taken}

≫SI unit of speed = m/s

≫ Speed is a scalar quantity.

★Velocity:-

Velocity of body is the distance travelled by it in per unit time in a given direction.

≫ Velocity= \small\tt\frac{Distance \: Travelled\:in\:a\: given\: direction}{Time\: Taken}

≫ SI unit of speed is also m/s.

≫ Velocity is a vector quantity
