Answer:

u = 2m/s & a = 2 m/s²

Explanation:

\bf{\huge{\boxed{\rm{\orange{Hey Mate:}}}}}

When the particle covers 3 m in 1 second :

s = ut+(1/2)at²

3 = u(1)+(0.5)a(1)²

3 = u + 0.5a ....(1)

Also,

When the particle covers 8 m in 2 second :

s = ut + (1/2)at²

8 = u(2) + (1/2)a(2)²

8 = 2u + 2a

8 = 2(3-0.5a) + 2a [from (1)]

4 = 3 - 0.5a + a

0.5a = 1

a = 2 m/s²

u = 3 - 0.5a

= 3 - 1

= 2m/s
