so the initial velocity of the obj. was 10 m/s

mass of a was 6kg

mass of b was 1kg

final velocity of a was 12.5m/s

we know that,

( a+b)U= aV + bV [ V= final velocity, U= initial velocity]

or, (6+1)10= 6*12.5 + 1*V

or,70= 75+V

or, V = -5m/s;

so the the velocity is 5 m/s and the direction is opposite to the original
