Mass of the body = 5 kg

Initial velocity (u) = 10 m/s

Final velocity (v) = 0 m/s

Initial momentum = mu = 5 × 10 = 50 kg m/s

Final momentum = mv = 5 × 0 = 0 kg m/s

Force = Rate of change of momentum

Change in momentum = 50 - 0 = 50 kg m/s

Time taken = 2 seconds

force= 50/2

Force = 25 N

Hence, the force required is 25 N
