A body moving with uniform acceleration covers 100m in the first 10s and 150m in next 10s . Calculate initial velocity of the body ?

s1=100 m

t1=10s

s=ut+1/2at^2

hence, 100=10u+1/2.a.100

10=u+5a..................i

and then

s1+s2=250m

and t1+t2=20s

then

again

250=u20+1/2.a.400

25=2u+20a.............ii

multiply i by 2

20=2u+10a........3

then iii-ii

5=10a

and a=1/2

and

put in....... 1

10=u+5.1/2

10=u+2.5

and

u=7.5m/s
