Answer:

Answer :

17.5 m.

Solution :

Hint : Calculate the distance travelled by the object in 3 seconds and 4 seconds, then subtract these two you will get the distance moved by the object in

second.

Answer:

35 : 2

Explanation:

Acceleration, a = 5 m/s²

Initial Velocity, u = 10 m/s

Case 1 Distance travelled in 3 seconds, Time, t = 3 sec.

Using, s = ut + at²/2,

⇒ s₁ = 10(3) + 5(3)²/2

⇒ s₁ = 30 + 22.5 = 52.5 m

Case 2 Distance covered in 3rd second, Time, t = 2 sec.

⇒ s₂ = 10(2) + 5(2)(2)/2

⇒ s₂ = 20 + 10 = 30 m

So, s₁ : s₂ = 52.5 : 30 = 35 : 2

Hope this helps.....
