A body of 2 kg nass is dropped from rest , from a height of 10 m . calculate , after how much time will it strike the earth surface. ( g=10m/s)

mass of the body = 2 kg.

Initial Velocity(u) = 0

Height(S) = 10 m.

Acceleration due to gravity(g) = 10 m/s².

Using Galileo's second equation of motion,

S = ut + 1/2 at²

⇒ 10 = 0 + 1/2 × 10t²

⇒ t² = 10/5

∴ t² = 2

∴ t = √2 seconds.

⇒ t = 1.414 seconds.

Hence, the time taken by it is 1.414 seconds.
