F=ma
a= F/m
2000 dyne = 0.2 N
a=0.2/0.5
a=0.4 m/s^2
Use equation of kinetic,
S=ut+(att)/2
S= 0+(0.4*100)/2
S=40/2
S=20 m

Answer:

The distance traveled by the body is 2m.

Explanation:

Given that,

a body of mass 0.5kg is resting(u=0) on a friction less surface when a force of 2000dyne acts on it for 10 seconds.

We are required to find the distance traveled by body in given time.

The given data is written symbolically as follows

m=0.5kg\\F=2000dyne=2000\times10^{-5}N=0.02N\\t=10sec

We know that force is the product of mass of a body and its acceleration.Hence,

0.02=0.5a= > a=\frac{0.02}{0.5}=0.04m/s^{2}

The kinematic equation of motion to find distance is

s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^{2}

Substituting the given values we get

s=0+\frac{1}{2}(0.04)(10^{2})=2m

Therefore,

The distance traveled by the body is 2m.
