A body of mass 0.5 kg moving with velocity is 5m/s comes to the rest after 5 sec in a horizontal plane . calculate the coefficient of friction body and contacts surface of horizontal plane.

Answer:

simply find the deceleration ,that is v/t = 5/5 = 1m/s²

so wkt , F(frictional force } = ma so ,F= 0.5 × 1= 0.5N

Explanation:

since we already knew that F= &N ( where &= coeff of kinetic friction)(N is weight of the body)

0.5 = & ( 0.5× 10)

so, finally & = 0.1.
