A body of mass 1 g is executing SHM. Its
displacement equation is given by
x = 4 cos 50t + m then its maximum kinetic
energy is
(1) 10 J
(2) 20 J
(3) 200 J
(4) 2 J

Answer:

Kinetic energy(max) = 1/2 mw²A²

A=4 (everything coming before cos/sin is amplitude)

w=50 (everything coming before t is w)

Kinetic energy = 1/2 (1 × 10^-3) (50)² (4)²

= 40000/2 × 10^-3

= 20000 × 10^-3

= 20 J

Therefore maximum kinetic energy is 20 J
