lets take mass, final velocity and initial velocity of body as M1 , V1,U1 respectively

lets take mass, final velocity and initial velocity of tank as M2,V2,U2 respectively

M1 = 1 KG

U1 = 0(starts from rest)

V1 = 300 m/s

M2 = 100 KG

U2 = 0(REST)

V2 =?

from law of conservation of mass,

M1U1 + M2U2 = M1V1 +M2V2

substituting values

(1*0) + (100*0) = (1*300) + (100*v)

0 = 300 + 100v

-300 = 100v

-300/100 = v

v = -3 m/s
