a body of mass 10 kg is kept at a height of 5m it is allowed to fall and reach the ground what is the total mechanical energy possessed by the body at the height of 2m assuming
it is a frictionless medium

[In this answer, I'm taking g as 10, but it might also be taken as 9.8]

Potential energy at height of 5m = mgh

= 10 x 10 x 5 = 500 J

If it falls to a height of 2m, the increase in kinetic energy will be equal to the decrease in potential energy, so the mechanical energy will remain 500 J.
