Given :-

  • Mass of a body (m) = 10 kg
  • Height (h) = 5 m
  • Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 10 m/s²

To Find :-

  • The potential energy of a body.

Solution :-

The formula for potential energy is given below.

★ P.E = mgh

Where,

  • P.E is the potential energy of the object in Joules.

  • m is the mass of the object in kg.

  • g is the acceleration due to gravity in m/s².

  • h is the height of the object with respect to the reference point in m.

[ Put the values ]

⟶ P.E = 10 × 10 × 5

⟶ P.E = 100 × 5

P.E = 500 joule ★

Therefore,

The potential energy of a body is 500 J.
