  • Body of 10kg mass is at rest.

Force exerted by the body is due to gravity.

Therefore,acceleration is due to gravity(indeed its at rest,but the surface is stopping is to accelerate downward due to gravity,hence there must be force between surface and body).This force is also know as Normal Force.

We know that;

\color{blue}\boxed{F=ma}

where,

  • F-force
  • m-mass
  • a-acceleration

 \implies F = (10kg)(9.8m {s}^{ - 2} )

  \boxed{\color{orange} \therefore F = 98N}

Therefore,Force exerted by body on the surface is 98 Newtons.

HOPE THAT HELPS!!
