distance travelled in 2 sec s=ut+1/2at^2
u=0 a= 9.8m/s^2
so , s = ut+1/2at^2
s= 1/2×9.8×2×2
=19.6m
distance between object and earth is 20-19.6=0.4
potential energy= mgh
1×0.4×9.8=3.92J
