Given mass = 1 kg

K.E. = 196 J

We know K.E. = P.E.

So, P.E. = 196 J

g = 9.8 ms^-2

P.E. = mgh

= 1 × 9.8 × h

= 9.8h J

or, 9.8h = 196

or, h = 196/9.8 m

or, h = 20m.

So, K.E. will convert to P.E. at a height of 20m.

Question : A  body of mass 1kg is projected vertically up with K.E =  196 joules . The height at which it's K.E = P.E .

Explanation:

m = 1kg

KE = 196 joules

As we know that KE =PE at 'certain  height'

Therefore PE =196 joules

Now we need to find the height at which the K.E = P.E

PE = mgh

196 = 1 × 9.8 × h

196 = 9.8 × h

h = 196 ÷ 9.8

If we remove the decimal point 196 becomes 1960 . Now we have to divide 1960 by 98 .

ANSWER = 20meter .

It's little tricky but easy when you know all the formulas .
