A body of mass 2 kg moving on a horizontal surface with
an initial velocity of 4 m/sec comes to rest after 2 sec. If
one wants to keep this body moving on the same surface
with a velocity of 4 m/sec, the force required is what ?
(A) 8 N (B) 4 N
(C) Zero (D) 2 N

Explanation:

force = mass * acceleration

force = mass * (final velocity - initial velocity/ time)

mass = 2 kg

time = 2 sec

initial velocity = 4 m/s

final velocity = 4m/s

acceleration = 4 - 4 / 2

acceleration = 0/2 = 0

force = mass * Acceleration

force = 2 * 0

therefore, force = 0

m = 2 kg

u = 4 m/s

v = 4 m/s

t = 2 s

acceleration , a = v - u / t

 =  > a =  \frac{v - u}{t}

 =  > a =  \frac{4 - 4}{2}

 =  > a = 0  \:  \: {ms}^{ - 2}

Force, F = m × a = 2 × 0 = 0 N

Hope this answer helps you ^_^ !
