We have,v=u+at
or a=v-u/t
In this question the acceleration provided to the body=(0-4)/2=-2
De acceleration=2
The force which provided the de-acceleration,F=ma=2x2=4N
Now this force is to be opposed ,hence a force of 4N is required to keep the body moving with velocity of 4m/s.
