A body of mass 20 kg is taken to a planet whose massis equal to that of the earth and radius twice that of theearth. Express the weight of the body on the planet inCGS system. (Take gearth= 10 m/s?)

As we know a body's weight is the product of its mass and acceleration acting on it i.e

W=ma

given, m=20kg

here acceleration (a) would be g=10m/s²

{because on Earth a body experiences acceleration and due to gravity (g)}

so, weight of the body on Earth is

W=20×10=200kg

as we know,

weight on moon=

6

1

weight on earth

so weight on moon=

6

200

=33.33kg
