Answer :-

40 N

Given :-

  • Mass of the body is 20 kg
  • Acceleration of the body is 2m/s²

To find :-

  • Rate of change in momentum

EXPLANATION :-

As we know that Rate of change of momentum is given by

Rate of change of momentum = mv-mu/t

Rate of change of momentum = m(v-u) /t

They given that Acceleration of the body is 2 m/s²

We also know that ,

Acceleration is defined as Change in velocity per unit time is called acceleration

a = change in velocity/Time

a = (v-u)/t

So,

2 = (v-u)/t

Now,

Rate of change of momentum = m(v-u) /t

= 20(2)

= 40 N

So, the rate of change of momentum is 40N

Know more :-

Momentum is defined as product of mass and velocity

Momentum = mass × velocity

P = mv

Change of momentum = m ( change in velocity)

Change in momentum = m(v-u)

Rate of change in momentum = m(v-u)/t
