a body of mass 2kg initially moving witha velocity of 10m/s collides with another body of mass 5kg at rest. After collision velocity of the first body becomes 1m/s find the velocity of second body.

before collision
momentum of body1= 2×10=20kg.m/s

momentum of body2=5×0=0kg.ms-1

after collision
momentum of body 1
10×1=10kg.m/s

momentum of body 2
5x kg.m/ s

total momentum before collision = total momentum after collision
20= 10+ 5x
20-10=5x
10=5x
x= 2m/s
