Given:

Mass = 2 kg

K.E. (Kinetic Energy) = 2 J (joules)

To find:

Velocity

Concept used:

  • K.E. =  \frac{1}{2} m {v}^{2}

Solution:

If

K.E. =  \frac{1}{2} m {v}^{2}

then,

m {v}^{2}  = 2K.E.

 {v}^{2}  =  \frac{2K.E.}{m}

v =  \sqrt{ \frac{2K.E.}{m} }

Substituting the value of Kinetic Energy = 2 J and

Mass = 2 kg

v =  \sqrt{ \frac{2 \times 2}{2} }

v =  \sqrt{2}  \: m/s

and that is the answer

Hope it helps,
