Mass of body given= 2 kg
Velocity(height of body)= 10m/s
Potential energy= mgh
Potential energy=2*10*10
=200J
Velocity(height of body)= 10m/s
Potential energy= mgh
Potential energy=2*10*10
=200J

Here we can use the concept of mechanical energy.
m.e.= p.e.+ k.e.
when the ball is at motion the p.e. = 0
k.e. = 1/2*m*v^2 =1/2*2*10^2= 100J
therefore m.e.=k.e.+p.e.=100J+0=100J
Now, when the body reaches and stops at the maximum height all the k.e. converts into p.e.
So, p.e. =100J
m.e.= p.e.+ k.e.
when the ball is at motion the p.e. = 0
k.e. = 1/2*m*v^2 =1/2*2*10^2= 100J
therefore m.e.=k.e.+p.e.=100J+0=100J
Now, when the body reaches and stops at the maximum height all the k.e. converts into p.e.
So, p.e. =100J
