a body of mass 300 gram kept at rest break into 2 parts due to internal force. One part of mass 200 g is found to move at a speed of 12 m/s towards east. What will be the velocity of other part?

Momentum is conserved

Momentum before explosion = Momentum after explosion

0 = m1v1 + m2v2

0 = 0.2*12 + 0.1v

v = -2.4/0.1

v = -0.24 m/s

Velocity of other part is 0.24 m/s (= 24 cm/s) towards west.
