Answer:

given,boy mass (m¹) = 40kg

so,boat mass (m²)=(200-40)kg =160 kg

horizontal Velocity or velocity of jump that the boy made(v¹) = 2m/s

velocity of boat(v²) = ?

so by the law of conversation of momentum

=> m¹ x v¹ = m² x v²

=>40 X 2 = 160 X v²

=>80 = 160 x v²

=>v² => 2 m/s

so , the speed of boat is 2 m/s
