resultant force=√64+36=10
magnitude of acceleration=10/5=2
direction =tan theta=(8/5)/(6/5)=4/3

See the above attachment for better understanding.

Answer :

Magnitude of acc = 2 ms¯²

Direction is 37° from 8 N.

Solution :-

Resultant Force (R) = ( + (- 6)²)^½

= 10 N

And the angle made from 8 N force = tan (6/8)=37°

Now by using Newton's second law, we get

  • F = ma
  • ma 10 = 5 × a
  • a = 2 ms¯².
