v1 = 3m/s
v2 = 0
Bf = ?

m1v1 + m2v2 = (m1 + m2)Vf

5 × 3 + 3 × 0 = (5 + 3)Vf

15 = 8Vf

Vf = 15 / 8 = 1.875m/s

Hence there common velocity is 1.875m/s.
