Answer :-

  • 12.5 N

Given :-

  • Mass of the body is 500g
  • Speed of the body is 5 m/s
  • Radius is 1 m

To find :-

  • Centripetal force

Solution:-

  • We have formula to find the centripetal force that is

Fç = mv²/r

where,

  • m = mass of the body
  • v is velocity
  • r is radius

As they given mass in grams Convert into kilograms

1 kg = 1000 g

1 gram = 1/1000 kg

500 grams = 500/1000 kg

= 1/2 kg

= 0.5 kg

So,

500grams = 0.5 kg

Now , substituting the values ,

Fç = mv² /r

= 0.5 (5)² / 1

= 0.5(25)

= 5 /10 × 25

= 1/2 × 25

= 25/2

= 12.5 N

So, centripetal force acting on the body is 12.5 N
