As we know that the volume of a body is equal to the volume of fluid displaced by it.
In the case above, we can clearly see that the object (body) displaces 1000 cm^3 of water.
Therefore we can conclude by "Archimedes Principal" that the volume of the body is-
since, 1 m^3 = 100 cm*100 cm*100 cm
= 1000000 cm^3
= 10^6 cm^3
Therefore, volume of the body = 1000/1000000 cm^3
= 0.003 cm^3
= 10^-3 cm^3
